About Ammala
Ammala Middle Eastern Dance and Music is a
non-profit organization dedicated to the the performance, education, and
creative presentation of the dance and music arts of the Middle East,
Greece, Turkey, North Africa. Ammala has a Twin
Cities-based performance troupe that creates group, duet and solo
arrangements featuring original choreography and music
arrangements. The Ammala School, the educational arm of Ammala,
provides weekly classes belly dance, plus other dance and music workshops..
The Ammala troupe and solo performers are available for bookings through Ammala. The cast is flexible-whether you need a soloist, a small group or a full dance troupe and band. dancers perform to live or pre-recorded music; musicians are also available for hire. Ammala's repertoire includes folkloric dances, modern and creative theatrical pieces, percussion ensemble works, and the traditional women's improvisational solo dance, raks as-sharqi ("belly dance"). Ammala Middle Eastern Dance and Music is a Minnesota non-profit corporation, in the process to obtain federal 501(c)(3) tax exempt status.
